The Simplicity and Complexity of Walking / 4 day Workshop – LIVE + ONLINE

New live and online 4 day JKA workshop with Jeremy Krauss

Jeremy Krauss is recognized worldwide as an excellent teacher for both his clarity and his creative abilities in presenting practical and theoretical aspects and in developing new and unique materials.

Why walking?

Walking is something we all do every day.

It is one of the final stages of our early development and the culmination of all previous phases.

Once the function of walking has developed, the majority of people walk until the latest stages of life.

As we age, it becomes important to improve our abilities and understanding of ourselves as walkers, and to maintain our stamina for walking on many terrains and long distances.

Simplicity

Walking is simple as it has only a few basic phases.

The phases of walking are relatively simple to recognize, learn and understand. Jeremy will share these phases with you in the workshop in a simple, clear way that will be easy for everyone to understand, remember and make use of.

Complexity

Walking is complex, as it incorporates and integrates all fundamental early movement function.

Experiencing and clarifying ways to improve walking in general, and ones own specific way of walking and the walking of students and clients, is more detailed and complex. To do this, a systematic approach of the specific details of walking will be presented. This is a dynamic way of facilitating discovery and learning of key aspects of walking which help improve walking for oneself and one’s clients an students.

In this workshop you will learn to:

→ Recognize, experience and understand the basic phases of walking (as adults)

→ Separate each phase of walking into individual elements of movement related to specific parts of the body

→ Understand in greater detail specific elements of movements of various joints and areas of the body which are prominent in each phase of walking

→ Improve your own individual way of walking and practitioners will learn how to facilitate these changes with students and clients

In this workshop, experience guided JKA lessons in standing that explore the relationships between:

bones of the foot
ankles
knees
hip joints
pelvis
the various curves of the spine
head & neck
arms
You!

After these lessons, you will enjoy the effects your own experience of walking and practitioners will learn how to facilitate these changes with students and clients.

As always Jeremy will make his presentation accessible to all, provide clear information, along with demonstrations and Q and A.
